The Nigerian delegate to the pageant, Miss Anna Ebiere Banne, did not make the top 20 .Miss Philippines Megan Young, the pageant's winner, was born in the US before moving to the Philippines when she was 10, according to her biography on the Miss World website.
Actress turned beauty queen Megan Young was crowned Miss World 2013.
Young bested 126 candidates from all over the globe earning for the Philippines, at the awarding ceremony in Bali, Indonesia Saturday night, a first in Miss World pageant history: a candidate from the Philippines has bagged the title.
Young accepted the Miss World crown from 2012 winner Wenxia Yu after being declared the winner of this year's contest.
