16 die at job test centres, minister confirms

Sixteen persons were confirmed to have died during the nationwide job recruitment test organised by the Nigeria Immigration Service on Saturday.

Mr Abba Moro, the Minister of Interior gave the confirmation during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Abuja.

Moro said that in Edo state one female applicant collapsed at the venue of the exercise and was rushed to the hospital where she died.

He said that in Jigawa state a male applicant died in an accident on his way to the venue of the exercise while in Niger two persons died as a result of the stampede.

He said that seven applicants in the FCT died also from the stampede while in Rivers five persons died.
Some applicants sustained injuries during the exercise with some have being treated and discharged while others are currently receiving treatment in various hospitals across the country.

As at the time of filing this report, the bodies of some of the participants who lost their lives have been identified by their families at the National Hospital in Abuja.

Mr Mohammed Yekini, brother to one of the deceased, told NAN that he was still waiting for the authorities of the hospital to release the corpse.

Yekini, who is also a lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic in Nassarawa state and hails from Okene in Kogi state, lamented the inhuman treatment participants were subjected to during the exercise.
He called on government to show more consideration to the plight of unemployed youths in the country.
He said that the deceased was married with a child.

Another participant of the exercise, Mrs Abigail Aroniya, whose brother is presently receiving treatment at the National Hospital, described the treatment they received during the exercise as inhuman.
Abigail said that most participants arrived the venue at the time slated for the exercise but the gate to the stadium was locked and officials of the immigration service were not there.

She said that when the officials finally arrived everyone tried to struggle into the venue and in the process some persons were pushed down and trampled upon.

Meanwhile, Moro has visited the victims of the stampede, who are currently receiving treatment at the National Hospital in Abuja.
While some victims have been treated and released from the hospital about 11 are still on admission.
Moro confirmed that the victims who have been released had sufficiently recovered and were in stable condition.
“Some family members of victims have also showed up here and we have interacted with them.
“I promised that the ministry and the service will do everything possible to ameliorate the consequences of what happened yesterday,” he said.

He said the primary focus of the ministry was to show support in any way possible to the victims still in hospitals and families of those that died.
Moro said that it was premature to talk about the employment for the victims for the moment as families were in mourning.

He said that every step required of the ministry and the service to conduct a hitch free exercise was done.
“I gave you the assurance that this exercise would be cost effective, transparent and would avoid the mistake of the past where all the candidates converged in Abuja and we had stampede and deaths.
“We tried to decentralise the exam this time and posted senior officers of the immigration, NSCDC and the police to various centres,” he said.

Moro said that over 526,650 persons nationwide applied for the recruitment and the security personnel deployed were adequate based on the number.
He said that the FCT Commissioner of Police would be at the National Hospital to ensure early release of the corpses to family members.

“We have undertaken to provide ambulance to assist the family convey the corpses; we have also asked that records of persons who are coming to claim this corpse be recorded.
“This is to enable us reach them. Those who are in the hospital we will monitor them judiciously and see what we can do to ameliorate their situation” the minister said

Ghanian Prophet Predicts Death Of Yvone Nelson and others

A certain prophet in Ghana has said on a radio show in Ghana that some of the country’s well-loved celebrities will all face death soon. Prophet Samuel Baffour of El Shaddai Prayer Centre claims God revealed the names to him and even went ahead listing their names out on air. The names he mentioned are; Jim Iyke’s girlfriend, Nadia Buari, Yvonne Nelson,  Samini, Obour, Kabobo and Lil' Win.
Continue after the cut to see how he predicted their death.

Nadia Buari
Her death will be a replication of Suzzy William’s death. Suzzy, a budding actress died in a motor accident along the Labadi-Tema road.
Yvonne Nelson

He said a lot of Ghanaians hate her and are planning her untimely death. Someone is working against the actress in a move that will stall her progress. She will sink so low nobody will recognize her and it will eventually lead to her death.
Lil' Win
Kumawood actor will die in bizarre circumstances. Lil’ Win will die either by knocking down somebody with his car which will result in his lynching or he will drive his car into a tree or an electric pole.
Obour
The Musicians Union of Ghana President’s name was also revealed to the Prophet as one of those who will die.  A fellow musician will die and during the funeral, some persons will poison Obour. His tummy will bloat (more than it is now) as a result of the poison which will lead to his death.
Samini
The ‘African Dancehall King’ was the first on the death list. According to the prophet, some persons in the music industry are planning the death of Samini. He claimed that some persons are envious of the talent and success of the artiste and are plotting to harm him which will lead to his death.

Heavy gunfire, explosions in Maiduguri

The city of Maiduguri in Borno state this morning experienced three large explosions suspected to be a major bomb attack, Sahara Reporters reports

Saharareporters could not ascertain if the explosions led to deaths or destruction of any kind. But our sources states that the three explosions were heard across the city.
SaharaRepoprters learnt that fighters from the Islamist sect Boko Haram are attempting to bomb and take over a major military base known as "Giwa barracks" in Maiduguri. A gunfight is raging in the area as at the time of publishing this report.

Reuters has reported heavy gunfire in Maiduguri, capital of the embattled north east state of Borno.
The news agency said the gun fire raged for two hours in Maiduguri on Friday morning, residents said, and explosions were heard at the Giwa barracks, where the army has detained hundreds of Islamist insurgent suspects.

Al Qaeda-linked Boko Haram has killed thousands in an almost five-year-long insurgency aimed at carving out an Islamic state in the religiously diverse country of about 170 million people.
“The sound of heavy gunfire and what sounds like RPGs (rocket propelled grenades) began at around 7:15 a.m. and it is still going,” a Reuters witness said. The fighting was happening at Fori, an area near a military barracks, he said.

Boko Haram is the biggest security threat in Africa’s top oil exporter and the continent’s second biggest economy. More than 2,000 people have been killed in Boko Haram violence in the last six months, security sources say.

President Goodluck Jonathan intensified the military campaign almost a year ago to oust insurgents from their stronghold in the poor and undeveloped northeast but it has failed to stem the bloodshed.
Violence in recent months has mostly been confined to rural regions where Boko Haram often gains the upper hand against the military. An attack on the northeast’s biggest city where there is a heavy army presence would be a setback for Jonathan.

T.B.Joshua Declares: Missing Malaysian Aircraft Is Inside the Deep sea

Those looking for the missing Malaysian Aircraft, had better come to Nigeria to consult with our super seer,Prophet T.B Joshua who has come out to say that the plane is lodged inside the deep sea with all passengers and crew dead.
The plane, whose disappearance without trace has been a source of worry to the Malaysian government as well as many people all over the world went off the radar almost a week ago and every effort to trace it or its debris physically and via the satellite has proven abortive.

But our very own Prophet has given what seems to be the accurate location of the missing plane, if we are to go by his antecedents on accurate predictions.

This is what he said:
The plane concerned is deep inside the sea. Some of the particles will be seen on the surface of the sea any moment from now.
May their souls rest in peace; we pray the Lord gives the family and loved ones the strength to bear the loss. Our prayer and love are always with them, the nation of Malaysia and other countries that had passengers on this flight.
Give it up for Prophet T.B Joshua!

The OPC members saw the secondary schoolgirl on Sunday, 9 March in a traumatized state at a public toilet near NITEL Office, at Oko Oba, Agege
And after giving her first aid treatment, the teenager was handed over to the police at the Agege Elere Police Divisional Headquarters, who referred her to Orile Agege General Hospital,  Agege for a comprehensive medical treatment.

Ugandan President’s Daughter Reveals She Is Gay

In a startling revelation, the daughter of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni admitted today during a radio talk show in Mbarara, in Western Uganda that she is homosexual, and that she is revealing this fact as a protest to the anti-gay law her father signed only a few days ago.

Diana Kamuntu, Museveni’s daughter said that though she loves her father unconditionally, she does not agree with Uganda’s anti-gay stance, and will fight against it.

“I am gay, I am homosexual. I have known this since I was a little girl. Also, I have been Christian all of my life, so I will not tolerate any law of this supposedly democratic nation, that will place hate on any person just because of what his or her sexual orientation happens to be,” said Kamuntu.

“Now that I finally revealed my sexual orientation, I put myself in front of this new law and I will let our people decide what to do with me,” Kamuntu adds, as her voice breaks down while on air.

The radio host, James Kasirivu noticeably was in shock, and could not seemingly get words out of his mouth.
The live radio brodcast was abruptly shortened and was put off air after a few hours of repeated commercials

In the latest setback for homosexuals across Africa, the Ugandan President signed a law Monday that imposes tough penalties for homosexual acts, a move that has been condemned from around the world and that may jeopardize Uganda’s relationship with the United States and other Western nations.

Kidnappers demand N500m ransom to free Pres. Jonathan's uncle

Abductors of Inengite Nitabai, the 70-year old uncle of President Goodluck Jonathan, have demanded a N500m ransom, Sahara Reporters report.

A security source said that the abductors threatened to kill him if the family fails to produce the money. The source also said the family had constituted a committee to evaluate the demand, establish negotiations with the abductors and facilitate his release.

He said the kidnappers had also warned against the involvement of security operatives in the matter.
"The kidnappers contacted the family four days after and demanded a whopping sum of N500m. It is believed that the family of the victim has begun negotiations with the hoodlums," he said.

Tension and panic set in when the kidnappers failed to establish any contact with the family of their victim three days after he was abducted.

That development was said to have rattled the Presidency, which reportedly ordered a massive deployment of security in Otuoke, the hometown of the Jonathans, and the Niger Delta creeks.
The gunmen abducted Nitabai on Sunday after collecting about N400,000 from his wife.

Extremist Syrian organization named ISIS - Islamist State in Iraq and Syria - cut off a man's hand for allegedly stealing and tweeted the event and photos live. Daily Mail UK reports that ISIS claimed the man had asked for the punishment to be carried out in Maskanah, northern Syria, so he could be 'cleansed of his sins' of stealing.

The first tweet showed a blindfolded man being held down, surrounded by a large group of rebels, moments before the amputation. Two other images show a sword as it is brought down on the man's wrist... and seconds after, as the man's hand lies separated. See the graphic photos after the cut.
